Miss World 2011

The Danish fashion designer, Elisabeth Rolskov, has just put the final feather on the evening gown, which will be worn by the Vietnamese participant in the Miss World 2011. It is the second year that Elisabeth Rolskov designs the prestigious dress for Miss World.

Made-to-order is part of ER Couture’s service. The ER Couture Collection available in the boutique can be custom-made for the same price. If you have special wishes please make an appointment with fashion designer Elisabeth Rolskov.

DRESS CONCEPT
An evening gown for Miss World needs the most elegant of silhouettes, breathtakingly unique details and of course, a bit of glitz and glam.

Sketch by Elisabeth Rolskov for the evening gown, Miss World 2011
The dress is inspired by two beautiful Victorias: the wearer Miss Vietnam Victoria Thuy Vy, and the Victoria Regia - a flower I came across when designing my latest collection.

Calling a flower beautiful is nothing new, but looking inside the flower - parting it and dissecting it, a process called cross-section - reveals an organic body of balance and intricacies that the human eye does not normally see. These patterns have inspired the dress and have created the mix of organic style lines, twists and fabric manipulations at the front bodice. A focus on unique pattern-cutting techniques and elaborate details is my professional standard. While the dress embraces Victoria's sensual figure and accentuates her allure,  it also symbolizes the importance of seeing her inner beauty.
